For most ESP32 projects, a microSD card should be formatted to FAT32.
FAT32 only supports microSD cards up to 32GB.
# find the sd card with lsblk, then unmount it
sudo umount /dev/mmcblk0
# format in fat32 command
sudo mkfs.vfat -F32 /dev/mmcblk0
